Güzelyurt Vocational School was established in 2008 within the scope of Aksaray University, with the Law numbered 3837, consist of five Programs under Technical Programs Department as Architectural Restoration, Traditional Handicrafts, Food Technology and Greenhouse Program and Tourism and Hotel Management Program affiliated to the Department of Economical and Administrative Programs. In the 2008-2009 academic year, 30 or 35 student quotas were taken from each of the programs "Architectural Restoration", "Traditional Handicrafts", "Food Technology", "Greenhouse" and "Tourism and Hotel Management" teaching started. In addition to these programs, in the 2009-2010 academic year, the Cooking Program of the Department of Economics and Administrative Programs was opened and 35 students were quoted. Ceramics, Glass and Tiling Program, which is affiliated to the Technical Programs Department, was opened in the 2011-2012 academic year and 35 students were quoted. In the beginning of 2012-2013 academic year, the departments converted to 5 (five) categories as "Botanical and Animal Production", "Food Processing", "Handicrafts", " Architecture and Urban Planning "and" Hotels, Restaurants and Catering Services ". In the 2012-2013 Academic Year, depending on the Department of Handicrafts, the Architectural Decorative Arts Program, the Plant Protection Program was opened in 2014-2015 Academic Year in connection with the Department of Plant and Animal Production, and these two new programs were organized in the 2014-2015 Academic Year, ) student quota was taken. In 2013-2014 Academic Year, Ceramic, Glass and Tiling Program which can not get enough student preference for 2 (two) years in a row is closed completely and Greenhouse Program is closed for new students. It still continues its activities with 6 (Six) active programs without high school education. At the session no. 24 dated 22.12.2008 of the Presidency of the Council of Higher Education, the departments and programs in Vocational Schools have been rearranged according to the international education field and occupational classification such as ISCED'97 and ISCO'88.
